Milestones
My sister would have been 60 today. She died about 2 1/2 years ago. Although I didn't think I would necessarily feel this way, because she suffered from mental illness and later many physical problems, I miss her. She was a sweet, caring, fun-loving person who was stricken in the prime of her life with a serious mental illness. It's times like these that I sincerely hope there is some afterlife or final reward or whatever, because she was someone who deserved better than what life dealt her. She bore her heavy burden with grace and much dignity. Sometimes she did so in spite of everything. My other sister really educated herself on her issues and is largely responsible for the reasonable quality of life she was able to achieve in the aftermath of my parents untimely deaths (61 and 62 within less than a year of each other). Together (and separately) we worked, to the extent that we could, to make sure that our sister had what she needed to get along in life.
Anyhow, today would be a good day to visit NAMI: National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Obama Confronts The Economic Club Of Detroit
Now, here is an example of someone with some guts. He tells Detroit not what the want to hear but what they NEED to hear. Stuff like this removes ALL doubt as to whether or not he is the right kind of person to lead this nation.
